HeadshotsHow much do headshots cost in Orlando?

How much do headshots cost in Orlando? Studios that publish their prices charge a session fee of about $125–$275, and many bill each retouched image on top at $65–$250. So the same "headshot" can cost under $300 or over $1,000, depending on how many final images, looks and locations you need.

How much do headshots cost in Orlando right now?

In Orlando (prices published by local studios, checked September 2026), a studio headshot session fee runs about $125–$275. That fee usually covers the photographer's time, the lighting setup and the chance to choose from your proofs. It often does not include the finished photo.

Many studios bill each retouched image separately, at about $65–$250 per image. That one detail explains why headshots cost so differently from one studio to the next. Two quick examples using only the published figures:

  • Lean: a $125 session plus two retouched images at $65 each comes to $255.
  • Premium: a $275 session plus three retouched images at $250 each comes to $1,025.

Same city, same kind of photo, roughly four times the price. Neither is wrong. They are built for different needs, and a quote only makes sense once you know which one you are buying.

Two other published ranges help place headshots in context:

  • Personal branding packages: $275–$3,350 per person. These go beyond one headshot, with several outfits, locations and images for your website and social media.
  • Conference headshot stations: $1,500–$6,100 per day, for events where attendees line up for a quick professional photo.
One look, one background: the classic studio headshot.

What drives the cost of a headshot

When people ask how much do headshots cost, the honest answer is that it depends on five things. Once you know them, any quote becomes easy to read.

Session fee vs. per-image retouching

Some studios fold a set number of retouched images into one price. Others keep the session fee low and charge for each image. Per-image pricing is not a trick: it lets you pay only for what you use. It just means the session fee alone tells you very little.

Number of looks

One outfit on one background is the fastest session. Every added look (jacket off, a second shirt, a different backdrop) adds time to the shoot and, usually, more images you will want to keep. Actors and personal brands often need two to four looks. A LinkedIn update often needs one.

Level of retouching

Basic retouching cleans up temporary blemishes, stray hairs and color. Advanced retouching can include skin smoothing, reshaping or background swaps, and it takes much longer per image. Ask which level is included, because "retouched" means different things at different studios.

Studio or on location

A studio session is the most controlled and usually the most efficient. On-location headshots at your office or home add travel, setup and lighting gear. Personal branding work, like a realtor photographed at a listing, often happens on location and is priced as a package.

On-location branding photos add setup time, and that shows up in the quote.

How many people

One person pays for the photographer's full attention. A team shoot spreads the setup across many people, so the cost per person usually drops, while the total rises with headcount and editing.

Team headshots and conference stations

For companies, the math changes. Matching team headshots need the same light, background and crop for everyone, so a new hire photographed next spring still fits the website. Ask the studio to record the setup, or book a studio where everyone can come in.

Orlando has a second, very local use: conference headshot stations. With the Orange County Convention Center on International Drive hosting trade shows all year, a headshot station is a popular booth attraction and attendee perk. Orlando-area studios that publish their prices charge about $1,500–$6,100 per day for one. The spread depends on how many photographers work the station, whether retouching happens on site and how fast attendees get their images.

Our studio on Kingspointe Parkway is under 4 miles from the OCCC, so it is easy to plan a team shoot or speaker headshots around a show.

How to compare headshot quotes

Put every quote in the same terms before you decide. The number that matters most is the total cost for the finished images you actually need, not the session fee. Ask each studio these questions:

  1. How many retouched images are included? If none, what does each one cost?
  2. How many looks or outfit changes fit in the session?
  3. How many backgrounds can you use?
  4. What level of retouching is included, and what counts as extra?
  5. How do you choose your images? During the shoot on a monitor, in a proof gallery afterward, or both?
  6. How will you receive the files, and in which sizes (web, print, social)?
  7. Where can you use the photos? Confirm that ads, print and your website are covered.
  8. What happens if you don't like the results? Ask about the reshoot policy.

Divide each quote's total by the number of finished images you will receive. That single number, cost per final image, makes very different pricing models easy to compare side by side.

Extras that change the total

Even with a clear session fee and image price, a few extras can move the final number. None of them are bad. You just want to know about them before the day, not after.

  • Hair and makeup. Some studios work with an artist for an added fee; others leave it to you. Either way, it belongs in your budget if you want it.
  • Extra retouching rounds. One round of edits is common. A second or third round of changes may be billed.
  • Rush delivery. Need your images for a launch or a conference badge this week? Ask whether faster delivery costs more.
  • Travel and setup. On-location sessions may add a travel fee, parking or extra time to build the lighting.
  • Additional people. A partner, a co-founder or a second family member joining the session usually changes the quote.
  • Prints and products. Digital files are the norm for headshots. Large prints are a separate item.

When a quote looks much lower than the rest, check this list first. The difference is often hiding in one of these lines.

Are cheap headshots worth it?

Sometimes. If you need one clean image for a company directory, a short, simple session is enough. Paying for four looks you will never use is not a good investment.

Cheap gets expensive when the photo does not do its job. A headshot for casting submissions, a speaker page or a realtor sign works for you every day, so light, expression and retouching matter more. If you are not sure what separates a good headshot from a forgettable one, our headshot tips walk through what to look for.

The biggest hidden cost is a session without direction. Most people are not comfortable in front of a camera, and an unguided session produces stiff photos nobody wants to use. Ask whether the photographer coaches posing and expression. At Nebulart, every session is guided step by step.

What about renting a studio yourself?

If you have a photographer friend or you shoot your own content, renting a studio can be the most economical route. Orlando rental studios that publish their prices charge about $50–$175 per hour, and marketplace averages sit around $61–$108 per hour.

Our photo studio rental in Orlando is $60 for 1 hour or $100 for 2 hours, with the equipment included: a 600 Ws flash with a 70-inch umbrella, a bi-color LED, white and burgundy backdrops and tethering to a monitor. It is a compact room, about 10.83 × 14.17 ft, made for headshots and portraits, with space for up to four guests and one photographer.

Keep in mind that a rental gives you the room and the gear. It does not include a photographer, posing direction or retouching.

Why do some photographers charge per image?

Per-image pricing keeps the session fee lower and lets you pay only for the photos you will use. Always check how many images are included before you compare quotes.
